יעל עוגן נשואה לאייל עוגן, יוצר וחבר אנסמבל כעת. אייל יופיע בערב פתיחה של פסטיבל בין שמיים לארץ ב2 לנובמבר ובתכנית ד’ ב6 לנובמבר.

מתי הייתה הפעם הראשונה שראית את אייל רוקד? איך זה היה נראה?

הפעם הראשונה שראיתי את אייל רוקד בהופעה הייתה בסיום שנה א’ בבית הספר ‘כל עצמותי’, והאמת היא שזו היתה חוויה די קשה. זה היה סטודיו קטן וסגור, ש12 גברים רקדו בו כל היום. ישבנו במעגל סביבם ובשבילי זה היה הרבה יותר מידי קרוב, ואינטימי.. מאז הייתי בעוד הרבה הופעות, מרגשות, נוגעות, יפות ומשהו בתחושה הזו, של קרוב ואינטימי, שנמצא על במה מול כולם קיבל הרבה עידון ועוצמה.

יש עוד בני משפחה שרוקדים או רקדו פעם?

אייל ממשפחה תימנית, רוקדים הרבה, נשים ובעיקר גברים. ואצלנו בבית גם רוקדים, איך אפשר לא כשיש מוזיקה ככ חזקה ותנועה באוויר. הילדים אוהבים מאוד לרקוד, והכי ביחד. אני גם אוהבת לרקוד, אבל קצת מתביישת.

מתי נחשפת לראשונה ליצירות שלו?

נחשפתי ליצירות של אייל לאט לאט, שמעתי עליהם, ראיתי חלקים, אח”כ יצירה שלמה, תיקונים, שינויים.  בעצם אייל התחיל לרקוד באופן מקצועי אחרי שהתחתנו, וזה הפך אותי לקרובה יותר, איפשר לי לגדול איתו בזה (ולהתנתק לפעמים, ולחזור.)

איך את מרגישה כשאת צופה בהופעות שלו?

אני אוהבת לצפות בהופעות, זה קרוב ומרגש תמיד, אוהבת לראות את מה ששמעתי עליו בפעם הראשונה, ולראות את הדקויות שכל הופעה לוקחת אליה בפעמים הבאות. הייתי שמחה אם יכלו להיות שניים ממנו, אחד על הבמה, ואחד לידי..

האם את מרגישה שהעבודות שלו משקפות את מי שהוא בחיים היומיומיים?

אם זה משקף את מי שהם בחיי היומיום? שאלה טובה. בטח שכן, זה מתחיל ממי שהם, מה שקורה עכשיו, אבל זה ממש ממשיך גם הלאה ליצירה. ולפעמים אני מרגישה שזה חוזר אליהם בביצוע, בערב הספציפי של ההופעה

האם הופתעת פעם ממה שראית על הבמה?

בטח שהופתעתי, הרבה יותר מפעם אחת.

תספרי לנו משהו שאנחנו לא יודעים על אייל.

טוב, משהו שלא יודעים על אייל. אולי שהוא גילה שהוא רקדן בדיסקוטק? בטח כבר  יודעים. אולי שהוא יודע לצייר צלם עם מצלמה כמו של פעם.. תבקשו, הוא ישמח לצייר לכם.

מה הוא הדבר הכי מאתגר בללוות את אייל בקריירה שלו?

הכי מאתגר… בשבילי הכי מאתגר זה לקבל את זה שיש דבר נפלא ככ, מלא חיים ויצירה שהוא עושה שזה גדול ומושך ככ, ולפעמים אני מרגישה בתחרות לא אפשרית. האתגר הוא לשמוח בזה, ולהיות שם יחד איתו, וגם להיות כשהוא חוזר.

מה הדבר הכי מרגש בזה?

היה לי רגע ממש מרגש באחת ההופעות הגדולות הראשונות, הרגשתי שפתאום הריקוד עבר בתוכי למקום אחר, לחוויה כוללת כזו, משהו אין לו מילים, וגם לא תודעה חיצונית לתאר אותו, הייתי שם בריקוד, וזה היה טוב.. ולפעמים אני שוב יכולה לצפות ככה, זה ממש מרגש. אני מרגישה שזו מתנה שאייל נותן לי.

 

Yael Ogen about Eyal Ogen

Yael Ogen is married to Eyal Ogen, choreographer and member of Ka’et Ensemble. Eyal will perform in the opening evening of the Between Heaven and Earth Festival on November 2 and in Program D on November 6. 

 

When was the first time you saw Eyal dancing? What did it look like?

The first time I saw Eyal dancing in a performance was at the end of first year at Kol Atzmotai Tomarna School, and the truth is that it was a pretty tough experience… It was in a small and closed studio in which twelve men had been dancing all day… We sat in a circle around them and, for me, it was way too close and intimate. Since then, I’ve been to many shows. They’ve been moving, exciting, beautiful and something about that intimacy and closeness, about being on stage with the dancers, received new power and refinement for me.

Are there others in the family who have danced/dance now?

Eyal is from a Yemenite family, they dance a lot, the women but mostly the men. In our home, we also dance. How can you not dance when there is such powerful music and movement in the air? The kids love to dance, particularly together. I also love dancing but I’m a bit shy.

At what point did you become aware of Eyal’s creations?

I was exposed to Eyal’s creations slowly. I heard about them, I saw parts first then the whole thing, the corrections, the changes… in fact, Eyal only started dancing professionally after we were married and it made me closer to it, allowed me to grow with him into it (and to separate from it and return to it).

How do you feel about attending his shows?

I love watching the performances, it’s always close and emotional. I love to see what I’ve been hearing about for the first time, and to see the performance become more refined as time goes on… I wish there could be two of him, one on stage and one by my side.

Do you feel that Eyal’s work reflects who he is in real life or in your eyes?

If it reflects who he is in everyday life? Good question. Definitely, yes. It starts with who they are, what is happening now but it goes on to become a creation. Sometimes I feel it returns to them in their interpretation, in a specific evening of a show.

Have you ever been surprised by what you saw on stage?

Of course, I’ve been surprised, more than once.

Tell us something we don’t know about Eyal.

Okay, something people don’t know about Eyal… Maybe that he discovered that he’s a dancer at a nightclub? People probably know that. Maybe that he knows how to draw an old-fashioned photographer with a camera? Ask him, he’ll be happy to draw it for you.

What has been the hardest or most challenging thing about standing alongside the artist throughout their career?

The most challenging… For me, the biggest challenge is to accept that there is this amazing thing that fills his life, this creation that he makes that is huge and so alluring. Sometimes I feel that I’m in an impossible competition with it. The challenge is to be grateful for it, to be in it with him and to be there when he returns from it.

What has been the most wonderful thing about it?

I had a very moving moment in one of their first big performances. I suddenly felt that the dance has moved inside me to a new place, to a broad experience, something that I can’t put into words or feelings, I was there in the dance and it was great. Sometimes I can still watch like that. I feel that it’s a gift that Eyal has given me.
