NEW UP ON THE KID'S CORNER ✦ What if dancers were NEW UP ON THE KID'S CORNER ✦

What if dancers were at the center of our world?

Heather Deatley reflects on Ohad Naharin’s 'Kamuyot', returning to the work years later with her children and thinking through dance as a practice of listening, connection, memory and coming home to ourselves.

“I wish for dance to offer this type of homecoming for my kids, an invitation to come home to themselves over and over again. For OUR kids. And the generations to come.”

What does it mean for a tradition to remain alive? What does it mean for a tradition to remain alive?

Creative Writing × Epos is a new collaboration bringing our practice of artistic response into conversation with dance on film.

For our first response, Jenny Birger writes about 'Germaine Acogny -The Essence of Dance', reflecting on tradition, transformation, the body and the language Acogny has spent a lifetime creating.

The film will be screened as part of the annual Epos International Art Film Festival on September 18.

In a new Re:View, Judy Adini responds to Yael Weiss’s 'Tension', considering the relationship between the performing body and its mediated image, the pleasure and politics of looking, and what remains singular in an age of endless reproduction.

“The camera had to follow this particular body, with its experiences, desires and pains, in order to generate the singular, unrepeatable value of Tension.”

At the Israel Festival, Temporarily Removed, artistically directed by Eiv Kristal, turned the absence of international artists and performances into the material of the work itself.

Nofar Sela joined Prof. Erez Maayan Shalev’s tour and found herself thinking about boycott, artistic isolation, parenthood, memory, moral responsibility and the possibility of meeting one another precisely through what is missing.

“We have to be one another’s community, the best colleagues we can possibly be.”
