What an amazing morning at @indnegev with @shiwabi

What an amazing morning at @indnegev with @shiwabiwa , @carmen_elmakiyes_amos , @orilenkinski and @albi__world !

Inspired by philosopher Emmanuel Levinas’s concept of The Other, we came together to talk, write and reflect on encounters with others, responsibility and the ways we relate to one another.

A music festival feels like the perfect setting for this kind of conversation. A chance to step outside our everyday routines, encounter different perspectives and open ourselves to new ways of thinking.

It was especially moving to hear people from the audience share their own writing, adding their voices and experiences to the conversation.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and to Albi and InDNegev for the collaboration.

An Even (Green) Playing Field

What happens when youth and age meet on equal footing?

In 'Metamorphosis', Yossi Berg and Oded Graf bring two generations of performers together on a green playing field, challenging familiar assumptions about youth, aging, and transformation.

Ori Lenkinski reflects on the encounter, the specter of catastrophe, and what it means to grow older without necessarily growing lesser.

NEW UP ON THE KID'S CORNER ✦

What if dancers were at the center of our world?

Heather Deatley reflects on Ohad Naharin’s 'Kamuyot', returning to the work years later with her children and thinking through dance as a practice of listening, connection, memory and coming home to ourselves.

“I wish for dance to offer this type of homecoming for my kids, an invitation to come home to themselves over and over again. For OUR kids. And the generations to come.”
